Denver ranked as the sixth best city in the country for foodies. Thanks to a plethora of restaurants and breweries within the city limits, Denver scored high on a new NerdWallet ranking of Best Cities for Foodies 2015. The financial analyst website scored 50 cities using a variety of metrics, including number of restaurants, breweries, and farmers markets. “Denver is a leader on the brewery and restaurant front,” NerdWallet said.  Read more

A recent report puts Colorado as the number fourth state for most startup activity. The latest Kauffman Index report ranks both states and metro areas for the amount of startup activity. Among states, Colorado ranked fourth, and boasted 350 people becoming entrepreneurs each month for every 100,000 adults. Metro Denver ranked fifth among metro areas with 370 people becoming entrepreneurs each month for every 100,000 adults.  Read more

It’s hard to say who has the most jobs to fill in Colorado, but one way to try and measure is to see which companies have the most online job help-wanted ads. Every month the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment puts out a list of the top ten employers with ads online. Not only did Denver rank first for metropolitan areas in economic and job growth, two other Colorado cities also made the top ten list. Area Development Magazine release a report analyzing 373 metropolitan statistical areas to determine which cities across the county are becoming economic front-runners. They used seven different sets of data and 21 economic and work force indicators to rank the cities.  Read more

Hines broke ground on 1144 Lawrence Street for new 40 story skyscraper A new shape will grace the Denver skyline in the next 31 months.  This past Tuesday, June 9, the groundbreaking ceremony for 1144 Lawrence Street, a 40-story office tower being developed by Hines on 15th Street between Arapahoe and Lawrence streets took place.  It has been several decades since a project of this magnitude has taken place in Downtown Denver.  Read more
