DENVER (CBS4)– Good news for all those who walk to get exercise or safe energy– Denver is getting kudos for being a “Walk Friendly Community” for its walkability and pedestrian safety. The City and County of Denver was designated as a Walk Friendly Community by the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center. The Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center is a national clearinghouse on those walking and biking activities housed within the University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center.  Read more

The Business School’s transition to its new building is about to become complete, as the Business School computer lab currently located in the King Center will soon be moving. All computer lab and classroom functions will completely move into the Business Building, and the new lab should be up and running before the Fall 2014 semester begins on August 18. Starting Fall Semester 2014, the Business School Building will have a second computer lab with 36 more seats.  Read more

The Business School at the University of Colorado Denver has recently announced it will offer its first continuing professional education (CPE) course for tax professionals. The course is entitled “Recent Proposed Treasury Regulations Affecting the Taxation of Partnership Loss Transfers and Mandatory Basis Adjustments under Subchapter K.” The purpose of the course is to provide participants with a basic understanding of Internal Revenue Code sections 704(c)(1)(C), 743(d), and 734(d), and how to apply the regulations to affecting partners and partnerships.  Read more

Business School students develop system to test expanded hospital ER, draw interest from global health care organization DENVER and AURORA, Colo.—CU Denver Business School students Allyson Robbins and Michelle Boyd knew they had a powerful tool in a software program that analyzes workplace operations. Then, through a spring 2013 Business Analytics capstone project, they used the software to test a real-world workflow—innovative redesigns in an expanded hospital emergency room.  Read more
