Being 23 years old, an entrepreneur, and the CEO of Recoup Fitness, certainly comes with challenges. With only one course left to complete his MS in Accounting, Mark Lasser went into the darkest time of his life. This was due in part to the rare optic condition called Non-arthritic Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (NAION). The condition that begins with similar symptoms to that of an allergy, leaves the person completely blind by the end of the week. While many who suffer from this usually only have one eye effected, Lasser was in the less than 5% of the population who ended up getting this condition in both of his eyes. Read more
University of Colorado – Denver Business School Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) students recently participated in a two-week intensive course in Denver, including class lectures, presentations, and case studies, to prepare them to experience global risk management in the non-traditional Excess and Surplus Lines Market. The class then traveled to London, June 1-7, 2015, attended presentations from insurance brokers, risk management companies, Lloyds of London, and reinsurers to learn how risk is transferred globally. Over 165 graduate and undergraduate students gathered from across the University of Colorado Denver and Anschutz Medical Campuses to compete at this year’s annual Research and Creative Activities Symposium. The Symposium showcases the research, creative and entrepreneurial activities of students on the Denver Campus and Anschutz Medical Campus.
