Parag Ravka is a second-year graduate student from India pursuing an MS in Information Systems. This past summer Ravka interned at Newmont Mining, a Fortune 500 company, where he worked as a technology intern. Headquartered in Greenwood Village, Newmont Mining is one of the world’s largest gold producers and is dedicated to sustainable and responsible mining. Ravka’s responsibilities included writing a complex computer language (Procedural Language/ Structured Query Language) and creating business intelligence reports for an environmental project.    Read more

Andrew French, MD, is the only member of his family to pursue a career in health care. At age 38, he’s already achieved a great deal, having been an emergency room physician and now the medical director of a busy emergency department that is also part of a major trauma center. Barnett is being recognized for his recent career move to Cantafio Hammond law firm as Special Council and Chief Operations Officer. Barnett is a GEM alumnus from cohort XIII and graduated from the program in June 2016. Ironically enough, he now works for fellow GEM alumnus, Ralph Cantafio, attorney and partner of Cantafio Hammond. Cantafio graduated with Cohort VII and now serves as a GEM faculty member, teaching GEMM 6200: Environmental, Regulatory, Legal and Political Environment in the Energy Industry, and GEMM 6210 Energy Law: Property, Contracts, and Transactions.  Read more

Internship season is full swing, with CU Denver Business School students putting their expertise into action with area firms. And they’re doing some pretty impressive things. Take Louis Nyamekye, an incoming senior studying Finance and Risk Management and Insurance, with a minor in Communication. Despite having a full academic year still ahead of him, Nyamekye was able to secure an internship with Arrow Electronics for the summer of 2017, working as a finance and risk management intern in the company’s treasury department.  Read more
