  • The Business Plan Competition: It’s About More than Money

    The Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition (BPC) at the CU Denver Business School has been one of the foremost events for early-stage companies in Colorado, and is now expanding to the Rocky Mountain West. This competition seeks to promote the development of high-caliber business ideas, and recognize the most outstanding plans with more than $50,000 in cash and in-kind awards.  Read more

    Certificate Ceremony features prominent Colorado business leaders Jabs, Lewan DENVER – Two of Denver’s most accomplished entrepreneurs and leaders spoke at the Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship certificate ceremony on Thursday evening. One speaker was Jabs himself, who last May made a $10 million contribution to dramatically expand entrepreneurship education, research, programmatic reach and caliber within the CU Denver Business School.  Read more

    DENVER – The Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado Denver Business School was recently highlighted in an article by ColoradoBiz magazine. The article featured the eponymous Jake Jabs, who is best known as the Founder and CEO of American Furniture Warehouse. In the article, Jabs discusses his background and business philosophy, the story behind his television commercials (which have become somewhat iconic in Denver and surrounding areas), as well as the reasons behind his $10 million donation to name the Center for Entrepreneurship.  Read more

  • Lewan Dares Students to Be Great Leaders

    Leadership is not about ego, limelight or autocracy. At the heart of a great leader is humility, graciousness and an appreciative spirit. Lloyd Lewan, Ph.D., and chairman of Lewan & Associates, an office equipment dealership, shared those thoughts and many more at the Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship in the CU Denver Business School.   • Business School to Host Denver Startup Week Events

    DENVER – The Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado Denver Business School will host two events on September 17th as part of Denver Startup Week. The Jake Jabs Center will first host a coffee and networking event from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Immediately following, from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m., the Jake Jabs Center is hosting a speaker series event entitled “Fostering Education Through Entrepreneurship.”  Read more
