DENVER – The Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition Orientation has officially kicked off the annual competition. The first event of the contest, the Business Plan Competition Orientation was held at the Jake Jabs Center on February 26th, 2014. Attendees were given details and tips about participating in the competition, which brings together challengers from Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming to vie for $75,000 in cash and in-kind awards. DENVER – The Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado Denver Business School was recently highlighted in an article by ColoradoBiz magazine. The article featured the eponymous Jake Jabs, who is best known as the Founder and CEO of American Furniture Warehouse. In the article, Jabs discusses his background and business philosophy, the story behind his television commercials (which have become somewhat iconic in Denver and surrounding areas), as well as the reasons behind his $10 million donation to name the Center for Entrepreneurship.
