  • CU Denver finance professors present research at the 3rd annual Geneva Summit on Sustainable Finance

    A paper written by CU Denver Finance Professors John Byrd and Elizabeth Cooperman was one of ten papers accepted among global researchers to be presented at the University of Geneva’s 3rd Geneva Summit on Sustainable Finance in association with Latsis Internationale, the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) Finance Initiative, and Sustainable Finance Geneva.  Read more

  • Jian Yang completes visiting fellowship

    Dr. Jian Yang, Professor of Finance and Director of CU Denver’s Finance Program, recently completed a month-long visiting fellowship at the research bureau of the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) located in Beijing. Each year, the PBOC, one of the world’s largest central banks, seeks highly qualified scholars from foreign central banks, international organizations (such as the International Monetary Fund and Bank for International Settlements), think tanks, and universities to conduct research regarding financial policy and regulation in China.  Read more

  • Dr. Boerstler featured in special issue of the “Voice of Experience”

    Dr. Heidi Boerstler is a Professor Emeritus of Health Administration, Law and Ethics at the CU Denver Business School. “I have been with the Business School for 29 years (with a few years spent at our law school) and it has been an honor and a privilege to work with our students,” Dr. Boerstler said. She teaches health law and ethics and transformational leadership in the MBA/HA program and in the Executive MBA/HA program.  Read more

  • Professor Bonaparte’s research featured in Wall Street Journal

    Yosef Bonaparte has been with the CU Denver Business School since 2014 as an Assistant Professor of Finance. Before becoming an integral part of the University, Bonaparte graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008 with a Ph.D. in Financial Economics. Professor Bonaparte’s main research interests are in Portfolio Choice and Asset Pricing. In particular, he examines how political climate and political affiliation influence investors’ portfolio choices and the stock market in general.  Read more

    The J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities (JPMCC) at the CU Denver Business School is pleased to announce the winners of the first Research Fellowship Awards funded by the CME Group Foundation.  The selection committee comprised of three eminent academic Research Council Members.   • 2016 Front Range Finance Seminar

    The spring 2016 Front Range Finance Seminar was hosted at the CU Denver Business School on Friday, April 15th, 2016. Co-organized by Assistant Professor of Finance Yosef Bonaparte and Associate Professor Yufeng Han, the Front Range Finance Seminar was re-instituted this year bringing the Front Range financial university community together for the first time in five years.  Read more

  • Fewer Skilled Immigrant Worker Visas Means Less Innovation

    A reduction in the number of skilled immigrant worker visas in the United States has had a detrimental effect on innovation, according to a study co-authored by Rina Ray, PhD, an Assistant Professor of Finance at the CU Denver School of Business. Ray and her co-author, Rasha Ashraf, PhD, Georgia State University, found that U.S. firms dependent on skilled immigrant workers saw a decline in both patents and citations since 2004.  Read more
