On Wednesday, June 22nd, the CU Denver Business School participated in Bike to Work Day, an event hosted by the Denver Regional Council of Governments (“DRCOG”) to help promote bicycle commuting and educate commuters about the benefits of using two wheels to get to work. Traveling through Asia on a recent furniture-buying trip, Jake Jabs kept seeing the same low-backed couch in market after market. Feeling a hunch, he put in a bulk order and shipped the “strange-shaped” sofas to his American Furniture Warehouse (AFW) showrooms in Colorado and Arizona. “We sold 69 sets in the first two weeks,” he said. “That’s what you have to do – you need to try things.  Read more

The spring 2016 Front Range Finance Seminar was hosted at the CU Denver Business School on Friday, April 15th, 2016. Co-organized by Assistant Professor of Finance Yosef Bonaparte and Associate Professor Yufeng Han, the Front Range Finance Seminar was re-instituted this year bringing the Front Range financial university community together for the first time in five years.  Read more

The State of Colorado announced its most recent unemployment rate on March 25^th. It is at a 15 year low of 3.2%, tied for fourth lowest in the nation. This record was in evidence at the CU Denver Business School’s third annual Career Fair. Sixty employer representatives from 24 companies were in attendance and offered a warm welcome to 250 students and alumni. Employers represented the Public Accounting, Banking, Healthcare, Investment Services, Manufacturing Distribution, Risk Management and Insurance, Start-Up, and Telecommunications sectors.  Read more
