The J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities organized the 4th annual international symposium virtually August 16 – August 17, 2021 and hosted over 500 participants from 24 countries.  As in the past, the 2021 symposium continued its core strength on the interactions among academics, policy researchers and practitioners.   Continuing its mission to bridge commodity academics and business practitioners, the symposium included five academic sessions and two industry panels, presenting academic and applied research from top universities including Yale, Oxford, and others.  Read more

A team of four graduate students from the CU Denver Business School took third place at the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative’s ninth annual Collegiate Program Case Competition on Friday, April 16. This is the third time a team from CU Denver has placed in the event, with undergraduate teams winning second place in 2019 and third place in 2016. The Case Competition exposes college students to a thought-provoking business ethics case and is designed to challenge students’ ethical reasoning, give them tools for ethical decision-making, and raise awareness of the importance of principle-based ethics.  Read more

College students from across Colorado competed in the first all-virtual series for CU Denver’s business plan competition after last year’s COVID-19 hiatus. On Thursday, April 29, more than 150 attendees joined the online event platform Socio to witness aspiring collegiate entrepreneurs compete for cash prizes. Hosted by the Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) Business School, THE CLIMB | Virtual Pitch Night showcased six finalists, four People’s Choice Award contenders, and their business ideas as they pitched to audience members and a live panel of judges.  Read more

The Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program gave students a chance to learn from an expert in white-collar crime and corporate integrity: Eugene Soltes is a professor at Harvard Business School, the author of a best-selling book, and, in the course of his research had regular phone calls with Bernie Madoff. Inspired by watching a late-night crime show, he decided to write letters to white-collar criminals behind bars.  Read more
