  • RMI Program Receives $25,000 Donation

    The University of Colorado Denver Business School will receive a $25,000 donation from The Colorado Insurance and Education Foundation (CIEF) Board to support scholarships and opportunities for students of the University of Colorado Denver Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) Programs. The CIEF board voted to disband after 45 years and split its remaining $50,000 between CU Denver Risk Management and Insurance program, and the University of Northern Colorado.  Read more

  • Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship Outlines Resources to Encourage Students

    CU Denver faculty has discussed efforts to encourage millennial students, who have shown to be more risk-averse, to engage in entrepreneurship. Madhavan Parthasarathy, director of the Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship, discussed resources the center offers to students, such as providing mentors, networks and the fundamentals to starting a business. He also outlined the Launchpad Certificate Program, which enrolls non-degree-seeking students in five courses that give them the fundamentals to start their own business or contribute an entrepreneurial perspective to an existing organization.  Read more

  • JD Edwards ERP Software Applications Certificate Program at South Denver

    JDE101 or the JD Edwards ERP Software Applications Certificate Program will be offering a complete two-week certificate course at the CU South Denver campus location at the Liniger Building in May 2016.  The JDE101 Financials and Distribution Certificate is offered through the Information Systems Program at the University of Colorado Denver Business School.  Read more

  • Asking Questions Home and Abroad

    As current and future business leaders, it is incumbent upon us to recognize how our worldview is different from others and expand our perspectives through new and different experiences.  The CU Denver Business School’s  11-Month MBA cohort had the opportunity, as part of our degree, to travel to Europe to do just that.   In February, about halfway through the program, we traveled for two weeks through parts of Germany, France, and Belgium.   Read more

  • China Factories Face Competition

    While China is currently the most competitive manufacturing nation on the globe, a new study released on Wednesday predicts that the United States will surpass it by the end of the decade, as a global shift to more advanced methods of assembly favors advanced economies. Jian Yang, Director of Finance at the University of Colorado Denver Business School said the traditional Chinese advantage in manufacturing – cost competitiveness – has been compromised due to rising wages and soaring land prices.  Read more

  • New York City finance career trek

    The CU Denver Business School held its first NYC Finance Career Trek the week of April 4th. Four graduate students, and ten undergraduate students attended the New York trip with Yosef Bonaparte, Assistant Professor, Finance; Stephanie Egan, Career Advisor, and Sue Wyman, Director, Business Career Connections. The group visited Bloomberg, Perella Weinberg Partners, the Federal Reserve, AlphaSights, Transactis, Morgan Stanley, J.P.  Read more

  • Energy Master’s Program Prepares Professionals for Leadership Roles

    The University of Colorado Denver’s Business School Global Energy Management (GEM) program is set to launch its 16th new class, which it calls “cohorts,” in July. The 18-month Master of Science program is focused 100% on the business side of the energy industry, and the program now has 300 alumni worldwide. “GEM was designed to add strong business acumen to a student’s technical expertise,” Catherine Steffek, GEM’s director of external affairs told, Oil & Gas 360®.  Read more
