About the Competition The NFL 1^st & Future, a challenge designed to spur innovation, hosted the second annual analytical competition in 2020. Last year, the contest resulted in a blindside block rule, and this year competitors examined the relationship between playing surface (synthetic turf or natural) and its contribution to lower extremity injuries (knee, ankle, and foot).  Read more

On March 4, the Business Career Connections (BCC) center held the Spring 2020 Career Fair in the newly opened Jake Jabs Event Center. Students had the opportunity to network and connect with 27 employers, who accepted resumes and offered information about their organization’s jobs and internship opportunities. Sarah Montoya-Ortega, a MS Management major, said “I enjoy coming to the Career Fair because it’s great to get employers’ perspectives on their own companies in addition to pitching myself.”  Read more

Since 2007, the Rocky Mountain Cable Association has hosted their annual case competition, the Cable Apprentice. This year, the competition featured student teams from CU Denver, University of Colorado – Colorado Springs, and the University of Denver.  The winners of the Spring 2020 competition were Jessica Olvera, Vasanth Rajasekar, and Chantelle Stevenson who competed as Peak Consulting, the team representing CU Denver Business School.  Read more

What drives student Daniel Rivera-Ibarra is quite personal.  “I grew up in a lower middle-class family, which inspired my focus in real estate,” Daniel said. “Specifically, I want to help Hispanic families attain their first home, by helping them understand the financial side and guiding them through the complicated process.” What home looks like for Daniel’s family partly explains how he developed a passion for real estate.  Read more
