    Since 2014, the “Walk in U.S., Talk on Japan” program has taken place around the United States, highlighting Japan’s commitment to building stronger relationships between the two countries. On December 1, 2017, a Japanese delegation walked in the U.S., more specifically at the University of Colorado Denver, and talked on Japan. Every year, teams of Japanese citizens led by former, high-ranking Japanese diplomats, travel to the U.S.  Read more

YouTube tech reviewer Tim Schofield (“Your Tech Simplified“) visited the CU Denver Business School to share insight on building an online brand with integrity. Tim shared tips for getting started and making money in social media as well as some ethical challenges he’s faced – like taking advantage of freebies, maintaining honesty and transparency in reviews, and taking his level of influence seriously.  Read more

  • THE CLIMB pitch competition rewards socially-conscious entrepreneurs

    Hosted annually by the Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship, five collegiate and four community teams pitched front of a panel of esteemed judges and a record-breaking audience of 150 people. This year’s competition featured an online craft beer marketplace, a meal planning mobile application and companies wanting to do social good. “There’s a very diverse group of entrepreneurs within Denver that are trying to solve some really cool problems here that have meaningful impact on society,” said Caleb Polley, first place winner in the community category.  Read more

  • The current crowdfunding landscape in Colorado

    In April 2015, Governor John Hickenlooper signed the Colorado Crowdfunding Act into law. The law reduced the amount of regulation for companies soliciting relatively small amounts of equity investment from the general public. This made it easier for average citizens to invest in local entrepreneurial businesses. The purpose of the act was to redirect Coloradan investment dollars back into the local economy.  Read more

    Under the St. Cajetan cathedral domes, 300 students and community members heard about the future of information technology (IT) from top executives in the Denver area at the 12th Annual Become a Business Leader with an Edge. Hosted by the Center for Information Technology Innovation (CITI) in collaboration with the Information Systems Association (ISA), the event was packed.  Read more
