On April 14, Chancellor Dorothy Horrell presented the University of Colorado Staff Council 2017 Service Excellence Award to Connie Amen, assistant dean of the Business School.  The Service Excellence Award is given annually to recognize and reward staff members who have provided outstanding and sustained volunteer service to their campus, community/civic/professional organizations, and the university as a whole through active involvement in staff events, community engagement opportunities, committee work, social advocacy projects and diversity initiatives.  Read more

Joel Fredrickson, a third year Computer Science and Information Systems (CSIS) doctoral candidate, recently received news that his joint authored paper would be published in one of the top design science journals within the information systems field. The paper, entitled “Development and Evaluation of a Similarity Measure for Medical Event Sequences,” is set to be published in ACM Transactions on Management Information Systems.  Read more

Two student organizations were guided this semester by one Finance and Accounting student, Irene Wang. In March, the Accelerated MBA cohort completed their International Business course abroad which included stops in Munich, Vienna, and Ljubljana. The course provides the opportunity for students to see how business is conducted in other parts of the world and create a platform to compare and contrast business cultures globally. MS in Health Administration graduate, Major Megan Malcom, who recently returned from a mission in the Dominican Republic, is among that special subset, as she continues to help developing countries refine and improve the quality of their healthcare services. The Electric Utilities: Fundamentals and Future: Global Energy Management (GEM) Program online course offers learners the opportunity to understand how the industries’ technical, regulatory and structural history shapes the electricity we all rely on today.  Read more
