    It’s smart to be HIP, at least when it comes to engaging students, enhancing their college experience and keeping them on track to earn a degree. Building off the success of last fall’s Undergraduate Experiences Symposium titled “Learning with Purpose: Quality HIP Programs for All Students,” CU Denver has awarded nearly two dozen grants to facilitate the integration of HIPs (High-Impact Educational Practices) into numerous CU Denver degree programs and courses.  Read more

    Join the CU Denver Business School for an MBA Program Kickoff Admission Event May 9th at the University of Colorado South Denver to get a running start on your MBA.  The event will bring together all key staff and faculty in order to expedite enrollment for students interested in taking classes at CU South Denver. The kickoff event also comes with some added perks. If you apply, you can waive the $50 application fee, and if you bring your GMAT scores you may be eligible for a scholarship.   Read more

  • Spring Career Fair allows students to connect with companies

    The State of Colorado announced its most recent unemployment rate on March 25th. It is at a 15 year low of 3.2%, tied for fourth lowest in the nation. This record was in evidence at the CU Denver Business School’s third annual Career Fair. Sixty employer representatives from 24 companies were in attendance and offered a warm welcome to 250 students and alumni. Employers represented the Public Accounting, Banking, Healthcare, Investment Services, Manufacturing Distribution, Risk Management and Insurance, Start-Up, and Telecommunications sectors.  Read more

  • Flexible software for data generation aims to aid capstone students

    The Business School at the University of Colorado Denver partnered with Coursera to develop a high-demand specialization entitled “Data Warehousing for Business Intelligence.” Coursera is a leading provider of a platform for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), partnering with many top universities worldwide. The specialization was developed by Associate Professor Michael Mannino and Professor Jahangir Karimi from June 2015 to April 2016.  Read more

  • Colorado Surplus Lines Association Pledges Support for RMI Global Risk Management Course

    For the third year in a row, 18 Risk and Insurance Management students will travel over Maymester to London, the historical hub of global insurance. Students will stay in the heart of the London financial district and visit the world’s top insurance carriers and brokers, such as AIG, Willis, Beasley, and Lloyds of London. At Lloyds, students will enjoy the exclusive experience of sitting in a Lloyds box and observe firsthand the process of underwriting a unique global risk.  Read more

  • Cascio Appointed as an Editor for the Journal of International Business Studies

    “Serving as a journal editor is a very significant academic distinction. To be named the editor of one of the premier journals in a major field is even more significant,” said Kenneth Bettenhausen, Director of MS Management at the CU Denver Business School. Wayne Cascio, Distinguished University Professor and Reynolds Chair in Global Leadership, is one of the most notable professors at CU Denver and can now add another distinction to his résumé, as Cascio was recently appointed as editor for International Human Resource Management for the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS).  Read more
