  • RMI students earn prestigious NAPSLO internships

    For the second year in a row, a CU Denver RMI student has earned a coveted internship with the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices, Ltd (NAPSLO). From an average of 200 applications, generally 12 students are selected to serve in the summer cohort. NAPSLO is the premier professional organization of wholesale brokers and carriers in the country.  Read more

  • Accounting and Information Systems 4+1 dual degrees

    Undergraduate students at the University of Colorado Denver Business School now have the opportunity to enroll in dual degree programs to obtain their MS in Information Systems or their MS in Accounting in addition to their bachelor degrees. Students pursuing an undergraduate degree in accounting can apply for the BS/MS Accounting 4+1 degree program. The program allows students to complete both degrees in as little as five years by substituting two graduate courses for two undergraduate courses.  Read more

  • Graduate student and long-time friend present research at hacking competition in Shanghai

    CU Denver Business School Information Systems graduate student, Lani Rupp, and her research partner Steven Chavez, recently returned from a cybersecurity competition in Shanghai, China. The pair competed in GeekPwn, a global contest in which hackers are invited to showcase the vulnerabilities they’ve found in smart devices. Many of the participants focused on hacking the usual suspects: smartphones, laptops, video game consoles etc.  Read more

  • CU team lands in top 10 in online global cybersecurity competition

    On Thursday Dec. 1, Adjunct Professor Yvette Connor and three graduate students participated in the Kaspersky Interactive Protection Simulation (KIPS), a live global competition between cybersecurity experts. Competing against over forty top security firms around the globe, the team placed eighth overall. The two hour-long roleplaying game is a rare opportunity for professionals to respond to realistic cyber-attacks.  Read more

  • New commodities center professional education course

    Participants in the new Commodity Data Analysis course offered by the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities (JPMCC) at the CU Denver Business School, traveled across the globe to gain valuable skills in quantitative reasoning this past week. The new three-day intensive course, held from November 9 to 11, was offered as a part of the JPMCC’s Professional Education courses.  Read more

  • Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs awards student travel grants

    Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs awarded the University of Colorado Denver’s Institute for International Business a study grant for Business School students to visit Japan through the Kakehashi Project. Accepted participants will leave for the weeklong trip to Japan at the end of November. The purpose of this program is to promote an understanding of Japan’s economy, business, history, culture, and U.S.-Japan  Read more
