    DENVER, September 14, 2016—Ethics and business leadership do not always go hand-in-hand. In fact, reports of some very unethical behavior from several well-known organizations have recently made the news. Does “Deflategate” ring a bell? What about Volkswagen’s emissions scandal?   • Information Systems Association student chapter wins IS award

    The Association for Information Systems (AIS) recognized the Information Systems Association Student Chapter of University of Colorado Denver’s Business School with the Outstanding Careers in Information Systems award, one of the association’s annual awards honoring the accomplishments of the best AIS student chapters worldwide. The awards will be presented at the International Conference of Information Systems (ICIS), in Dublin Ireland on December 11, 2016.  Read more

  • JPMCC program manager visits Greenhorn Valley Chamber of Commerce

    Matt Fleming, Program Manager for the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities (JPMCC) at the University of Colorado Denver Business School, spoke to about a dozen members of the community at the Colorado City Chamber of Commerce Luncheon on June 9th, held at the Rye Café. Fleming, originally from New York, has an MBA and is working on his MS Finance Degree. The only Center of its kind focusing on commodity education, The JPMCC provides undergraduates a certificate in Commodities, and MBA/MS Finance and Risk Management students the opportunity to specialize in Commodities.  Read more

  • Student shares hands-on experience in her sustainability field study course

    The Sustainability Field Study Course at the CU Denver Business School led by professor Graham Russell that concluded this past Spring gave students the real world experience they crave. Students who took the coursework individually or in small teams to conduct a semester-long sustainability project in a local company, government agency or non-profit. These projects address a clearly identified need and lead to a well-defined product or deliverable that can be achieved within the duration of a single semester.  Read more

  • RMI program gives back to Colorado high school students

    The Risk Management and Insurance Program at the CU Denver Business School was founded with the strong support and involvement of industry partners. For the second summer in a row, the RMI program has been able to give back to the community by offering a free summer class to local high school students. This summer, 18 students from Colorado high schools participated in the Introduction to Risk Management Careers course and earned a free CU Denver academic credit.  Read more
