    Charles Schwab & Co. is not affiliated with CU Denver After finishing his undergraduate degree in biopsychology, Christopher Foye was unsure of what he wanted to do with his life. He couldn’t find a job and was feeling regretful with the direction he took during his time in college.     We are all wired in certain ways. The different facets of our personalities influence how we perceive the environment around us and how we identify with each other. When similar personalities meet, they connect. When dissimilar personalities meet, there is a higher risk of friction or discontent.     Monica Smith overcame many obstacles to establish herself in the US after moving here from her home country of Colombia. Transitioning her career path from the field of industrial engineering into the field of accounting, was the biggest challenge she was facing after her move.     Each semester a group of CU Denver Business School MBA students are given the rare opportunity to collaborate with a company from Colorado for course credit. Through the business strategy lab, students consult with a company on a strategic issue they’re facing and learn how to conduct research, synthesize their research into strategic recommendations, work with executives while gaining both strategy and consulting experience.  Read more

    Kathleen Phillips, originally from Michigan, moved to Colorado with a comfortable job at a well-known company. After her move, Phillips’s world was turned upside down in an instant when her father unexpectedly passed away. Her family had very little time to grieve because the loss put her family’s finances in danger. Lack of financial planning left them in a precarious position.  Read more
