A group of CU Denver Business School students recently returned from a Maymester program in Belize. Their goal? Hone their respective business skillsets through service learning projects aimed at helping the local population. Not all students decide to pursue internships for the sole purpose of gaining industry experience. Sarah Ault, a dual MBA/MS International Business candidate, recently secured an internship at Ball Corporation, where she will work as a Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) intern, exploring and expanding upon her passion to foster deeper community relationships. This Maymester, CU Denver Business School students spent time abroad learning about leadership and entrepreneurship in a global context through the CU Denver in Ireland: Leadership and Entrepreneurship course offered by the Office of Global Education. For the course, students chronicled their ‘lessons learned’ through blogs. Students were immersed in the culture of the Republic of Ireland in Dublin with excursions to Belfast in Northern Ireland.  Read more

It is a time when students are looking to get ahead, apply for internships, and when those who stand out, like Accounting undergraduate Jesse Fink, are successful in securing them. For today’s candidates, the ability to bring real-world industry experience into their first post-graduate position can be a game-changing factor, the difference that sets them apart from the rest. CU Denver Business School Finance undergraduate, Suhail Ghoomun, is one of the many driven students who have recognized the importance of completing an internship before seeking an industry position, which is precisely what prompted him to pursue a learning opportunity with Merrill Lynch this summer.  Read more

Getting an internship can be difficult enough, but landing an internship at one of the leading firms in the finance industry—a member of the acclaimed “Big Four”—can be even harder. Desrae Johnson, an Accounting undergraduate, managed to do just that, securing a competitive position with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
