With the Cuban borders officially opened in 2015, our students are now able to experience a previously unseen side of Cuba through a Business School Study Abroad program, Cuba Libre. Through the program, students experience the rich cultural history of urban and rural Cuba, while gaining an understanding of the complex political and economic system as it tries to embrace normalized relations with the world’s largest economy.  Read more

Nestled between Mexico’s southern peninsula and Guatemala and located on the eastern coast of Central America lies Belize. The country is renowned for its natural beauty and vibrant culture. Belize also is the site for one of four exciting study abroad Maymester opportunities. While some of us celebrated Fall Break by eating too much turkey on Thanksgiving, 20 talented CU Denver Business School students spent their time learning about the economy, history, and culture of a country located an ocean away. After having been awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to Japan from the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the Kakehashi Project, several returning student participants reflected on their weeklong experience abroad.  Read more

It’s safe to say that since her time at the CU Denver Business School, Ariana Nikmanesh has been busy. Since the beginning of her college career two years ago, Nikmanesh has been active both on and off campus, having served as a research assistant at the business school, a marketing assistant, a College Council business representative for Student Government, and a marketing intern for a major Denver-based firm—all while holding down a job and tackling a full academic course load.  Read more

Grecia Portillo, a rising junior at the CU Denver Business School, recently completed a summer abroad program in Hong Kong, after being awarded a highly prestigious full-ride scholarship from The Fund for American Studies. As a world traveler and student pursuing an international business degree with a minor in Mandarin, Portillo jumped at the opportunity to continue her education in China.  Read more

The Sustainability Field Study Course at the CU Denver Business School led by professor Graham Russell that concluded this past Spring gave students the real world experience they crave. Students who took the course work individually or in small teams to conduct a semester-long sustainability project in a local company, government agency or non-profit. These projects address a clearly identified need and lead to a well-defined product or deliverable that can be achieved within the duration of a single semester.  Read more
