  • Why do Oil Prices Keep Going Down?

    Global stock markets have been in a tailspin this week. And the sinking price of oil received at least some of the blame. Just this week, the cost of a barrel of crude reached a 12-year-low of US $27 (RM118.33), down from more than US $100 a little more than year ago. And that may not be the end of it, according to some in the industry. Plummeting oil prices have raised fears of a worldwide recession, even though countries are still reporting growth in jobs and income.  Read more

  • Business School Finance Student Awarded Competitive Fellowship

    The results are in and the announcements have gone out. The Global Association of Risk Professionals Partnership for Risk Education chose University of Colorado Denver Business School student Caroline Nguyen as one of five students awarded the Fall 2014 GARP Research Fellowship. “It was unbelievable to me,” Nguyen said. “I never thought I could win, since I knew it was very competitive.”  Read more

    Lincoln, NE – Robert Kay is the owner of Star City Motor Sports in Lincoln, Nebraska, and an avid mountaineer. He is also a graduate of the University of Colorado Denver Business School, earning his BS in Finance and International Business in 1990.     About 200 students participate, including those who went through Finance, Risk Management and Insurance Career Series DENVER – Bryant Burciaga, dressed in a crisp suit and carrying his resume, shook hands with many potential employers at the hugely successful Career Fair hosted by the University of Colorado Denver Business School. “There’s a lot of good opportunities here for internships and for people who are close to graduating,” he said.  Read more
