DENVER – Over 500 people braved the first snow of May to attend the University of Colorado Denver Business School’s 2013 Celebration of Success. The event, which was held at the Grand Hyatt Denver, featured an armchair dialogue with Senator Alan Simpson (retired) and Cole Finegan, Partner at the law firm of Hogan Lovells. The presentation, titled “Let’s Fix the Debt,” featured Simpson’s signature quick wit and biting humor as he discussed the American debt situation and its remedies.  Read more

Katrin V. Jeschonnek is an MS candidate in Management & Organization at the University of Colorado Denver Business School. Katrin is originally from a small town called Taufkirchen, near Munich in Germany. She graduated from the University of Regensberg before attending CU Denver. DENVER— Flood and Peterson Insurance recently made a gift of $25,000 to the Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) program at the University of Colorado Denver Business School. The gift represents the first endowed scholarship from an insurance brokerage to the RMI program, which will help recruit more students into the insurance industry workforce.  Read more

Jonathan Groeschel is an undergraduate finance student at the University of Colorado Denver Business School. Jonathan was born in Georgia, but being part of a military family has meant living in a lot of different cities. Before coming to CU Denver, Jonathan studied at the College of Southern Maryland. Jonathan received the Xcel Energy scholarship to take the Introduction to Commodities course in the new Commodities Center.  Read more

Christine Narayan is an undergraduate student at the University of Colorado Denver Business School working on earning her Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management & Accounting. Yulia Pastukhova is a management student at the University of Colorado Denver Business School. Yulia is from Irkutsk, Russia—a city of around 590,000 –which is one of the largest cities in Siberia. When she started her undergraduate career at CU Denver, Yulia was not sure whether she would be able to afford to stay for more than a semester.  Read more
