At the age of eleven Grace Heneveld decided she would one day live in Denver. What Heneveld didn’t realize is that she would spend the majority of her college career at CU Denver and secure an accounting position with her dream company before graduating. Heneveld graduated this December and earned a BSBA in Accounting from the CU Denver Business School. Heneveld grew up in Fort Collins and attended a small private university in Florida her first semester.  Read more

For inspiration in business and in life, Julie Austin doesn’t need to look far. All she has to do is talk to her mother and grandmother. Julie, 22, will be the third generation in her family to graduate from the CU Denver Business School when she finishes her studies next year. Her mother, Christie Austin, 61, and her grandmother, Emily Hamrick, 87, are both successful businesswomen.  Read more

From growing up homeless to becoming a single father, Geoffrey King has faced much hardship in his life. However, King never allowed these difficulties to keep him from pursuing his dreams. He is currently a senior pursuing a BSBA in Accounting and Finance with the support of a full-tuition scholarship, the Reisher Scholars Award. Graduating from the CU Denver Business School is only the first step in his 10-year plan to make a positive impact on the world.  Read more

For Anna Luiza, the decision of where to attend college was easy. A Brazilian native, Luiza first arrived in Denver during high school through an exchange program. She fell in love with the city and began planning her return shortly after leaving several years ago. Now pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration majoring in both financial management and accounting, Luiza recently sat down with the Office of International Affairs to elaborate on why CU Denver was the obvious choice for her.  Read more

It is a time when students are looking to get ahead, apply for internships, and when those who stand out, like Accounting undergraduate Jesse Fink, are successful in securing them.
