When Geoffrey King walks across the stage at CU Denver Spring 2018 Commencement, he’ll be thinking of his three kids – and how much he wants them to achieve his success but never have to go through what he did to get there. For the first 10 years of King’s life, he lived in a car with his family of six. His father passed away the day before his 10th birthday, and his mother passed away when he was 14, leaving him the head of the household.  Read more

From graduating high school in 2006 to recently accepting a competitive internship from Xcel Energy, Kasey Sipe’s relentlessness has led him to success. Sipe, earning his BSBA in both Accounting and Finance, is enjoying every minute of his undergraduate experience this time around. A long journey to CU Denver Being an Arizona native, Sipe made the trek to Colorado to pursue a career in food service and hospitality.  Read more

All businesses manage risk. There’s a huge need for new talent in this field since 50 percent of the industry is retiring in the next five to 10 years. The CU Denver Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) program addresses this gap by educating students on minimizing and preventing loss as well as managing risk across a variety of industries. Five CU Denver Business School students participated in several Inworks classes this semester.
